When You've Carried
Everyone Else —
Who Carries You?
Mental wellness coaching built for first responders, by someone who has stood in the fire - literally. The C.A.N. Framework gives you Clarity, Actions, and Next Steps when you need them most.
Built for the
First In.
First responders carry weight that most people can't imagine. The calls. The shifts. The things you can't unsee. The culture that says push through - and keep going.
Flashpoint Consulting LLC was built from inside that culture. Not from a therapist's office looking in, but from the fireground, the apparatus bay, and the command post. The coaching here speaks your language because it was forged in it.
Using the C.A.N. Framework and ICF-aligned coaching practices, Flashpoint supports first responders in building the mental readiness that protects not just the people they serve — but themselves and their families.
The C.A.N. Framework
Your mental incident command system — a proven structure for Clarity, Actions, and Next Steps when the pressure is on.
Know What's Actually Burning
Before you can act, you need an accurate size-up. Clarity means getting honest about what's really happening — not what you want to believe, not what the culture says you should feel. Just the truth on the ground.
Deploy the Right Response
Clarity without action is just observation. Actions translate your size-up into deliberate moves — specific steps that match your resources to your challenge. Not reactive. Not overwhelmed. On task.
Build What Lasts
The best incident commanders don't just handle today's fire — they build systems for the next one. Next Steps lock in momentum, creating habits and structures that compound over time.
"The C.A.N. Framework isn't a therapeutic model. It's an operational system — built for people trained to act under pressure."

I've Been In
the Fire.
Not metaphorically. Literally. For over two decades I've served as a firefighter, officer, and Battalion Chief — responding to the calls most people never see, leading crews through the worst moments of people's lives, and carrying that weight home at the end of every shift.
"I built Flashpoint Consulting because the system that trains us to run into burning buildings has almost nothing built to help us deal with what that does to us inside."
As a First Responder Coach, I've trained in ICF Core Competencies and applied them specifically to the language, culture, and psychology of the fire service. The C.A.N. Framework grew out of that work — a coaching model that feels native to how first responders already think, not foreign to it.
My work spans 1-on-1 coaching, group programs, speaking engagements, and the C.A.N. book for first responders — a resource built specifically to improve mental wellness through practical coaching practices, written by someone who has lived the culture from the inside out.
